Haircare Review: Ojon Damage Reverse Restorative Shampoo and Conditioner *

A long long time ago ( yes, I am that disorganised) I was lucky to recieve a set of Ojon Damage Reverse products in the post that I am finally getting round to sharing my thoughts on today. I have already shared my thoughts on the damage reverse mask and the hair oil which you can check
out but today I shall be sharing my thoughts on the shampoo and conditioner from the range.
Ojon Shampoo
The shampoo dispenses as a clearish liquid that has got a very subtle, not overpowering scent which is very natural and one that I can't pin point to a particular scent. I can't say I'm overly fond of the scent but it doesn't linger for long so there is no problem there.
When using this shampoo it lathered up easily even with a small amount product to cleanse my hair and scalp without irritating my very sensitive scalp which is a miracle seeing as only T Gel works otherwise . It is also easy to rinse out and your hair feels smooth when in the shower and easy to comb with a widetooth comb.
Once I dry my hair with this it is left very soft and smooth, detangled with very little frizz. The negative side however is that I find I can't use this all the time as my hair can feel weighed down on the roots, especially as it isn’t very thick, and looks somewhat greasy looking if it isn't thoroughly rinsed, which doesn't help with my oily roots! I also found that it didn’t do much to my ends either which was a let down.
Overall I feel that this shampoo is cleansing and is very effective at smoothing and detangling and is probably best if you have thick frizzy hair with dry roots however if you have thinner hair than me, I would opt for something less moisturising as a shampoo and stick to an Ojon conditioner, which I shall talk about next.
Ojon Hair Conditioner
This conditioner claims to detangle, moisturise and
revitalise damaged hair leaving hair look much healthier, silkier and smoother.
When I have used this conditioner after just my ‘regular’ shampoo (
not my Ojon shampoo), I find that this conditioner hydrated my hair, which
is needed after I have heat damaged my hair , and smoothed my split ends –
leaving my hair overall looking healthy and nourished. I also found that this
conditioner, although it was moisturising, didn’t weigh my hair down. One thing
I didn’t like, although this contradicts what I have just said,was that the scent
of this product was very mild when
usually I like to use fresh and fruity scents for my shampoo and conditioner.
Overall I feel that conditioner is great as it meets all of
its claims – my hair is left silky, soft, smooth and shiny and I really do love it however I don’t
think I would repurchase this product straight away as it seems very overpriced to me and I
feel that you could spend much less and get a very similar result. For me this
is definitely a treat item and one I shall be adding to my christmas list.
To conclude, I really do love the conditioner and urge you to try it if you wanted to try something from the Ojon range ( even if it was a miniture size which I believe is £6) as it is a really effective conditioner. I also believe that Ojon often do swaps where you can swap your empty shampoo bottles for an Ojon shampoo and conditioner so keep your eye out for those! Whilst you're there it may also be worth checking out the mask and oil as I love those too!
