XX by Revolution, CrystalXX Eyeshadow Palette 'Quartz'* |
Today I wanted to talk about a product that is soon to launch @ Boots, the XX by Revolution CrystalXX Eyeshadow Palette in the shade 'Quartz'. When I first opened this, I was so pleased that it was a palette where I could see myself using every single one of the shades. Normally there are shades in the palettes I try that get neglected, but this is certainly not the case as they work so well together - a mix of pinks, rose golds, plum and rose tones. If you have the patience to experiment with the different shades and textures, there are so many looks you can get from this palette and the shades will last all day and beyond.

The texture of the shades varies depending on the colours. It appears that there are 3 or 4 that are your ‘traditional’ buttery eyeshadow texture, whereas the other glittery shades are more of a chunky crumbly ‘pressed pigment’ in their texture to create a high-shimmer foil-like finish. Because of this, I have definitely found applying these shadows much easier and more effective when using my fingers, to get the best pigmentation and longevity, and to avoid product fallout. As the colour payoff when using brushes is much less, if you use the shades wet (with a setting spray) or with a glitter primer, it makes it much easier to 'pack on' the colours and leaves a glossy finish all day long.
Although I've not be going anywhere recently (lockdown and all), this has been my go-to palette for my 'zoom quizes' and 'living-room glam, perfectly paired with my loungewear of choice - currently a cosy fluffy jumper from Femme Luxe!
