So today’s post makes a change for me as I decided that I would get glammed up and start planning the outfits that, when government permit, will be perfect for post-lockdown socialising. Although I hadn’t got anywhere to go (apart from my daily walk), doing my hair and makeup worked wonders for my mood and even if you’re only seeing friends and family members at a 2m social distance, we can still make ourselves feel good!
For my 'lockdown glam', I wanted to try something that I’d always shied away from - Jumpsuits! Femme Luxe has such a lovely range of jumpsuits online, a mixture of formal and casual. Not having worn jumpsuits before, I played it safe and went for two of Femme Luxe's black jumpsuits.
Black Mesh Polka Dot High Neck Jumpsuit – Stephanie (£17.99)
The first jumpsuit I am wearing is the black mesh polka dot high neck jumpsuit from the Stephanie collection. This is such a great way to ease into wearing a jumpsuit because you’d easily mistake this for trousers and a top.
I love polka dots and love the idea of a slim fitting jumpsuit. I usually wear a size 12/14 in dresses and playsuits but after reading guidance on the website, I sized up and went for a size 16. Unfortunately, this means that the sheer top half is a tad too big for me (I’ve worn it with a black bandeau), which is a shame because it fits perfectly on the bottom half and in the leg length (I’m 5’5 ).
Black Mesh One Shoulder Sleeve Flare Leg Jumpsuit - Daisy (£20.99)
The second jumpsuit is the one of Femme Luxe's one shoulder jumpsuits. I chose this in black as it's not only super elegant but super flattering too. I bought this in a size 14 (I usually go for a size 12/14) and it fits very true to size, except being slightly too big under my left arm.
In contrast to the other jumpsuit, where the leg length fit me perfectly, the length of this jumpsuit is a little too long when wearing flat shoes, but when paired heels, is the perfect length. If we weren’t in lockdown, this jumpsuit would be ideal for drinks with the girls or for a black-tie occasion.
I’ve been super impressed by these jumpsuits from Femme Luxe. Both are lovely quality and affordable too, so when we are finally allowed to meet up with friends in bars and restaurants, Femme Luxe is the ideal go-to website for a going-out outfit.
