AUTUMN: Daily Makeup Routine for University

12:00

It’s been a little while since I shared my daily makeup routine, but I’ve got my make-up routine down to a fine art for when I’m in a rush for my train in the morning, whilst still looking like I’ve taken care with my appearance. Being able to leave my alarm as late as possible whilst avoiding looking dreary-eyed is a win-win in my book. My makeup bag has remained much the same since the summer months, give or take a couple of daily swaps, and has worked great to take me from uni to work to social events, with only a few changes needed.

Too Faced Hangover Primer (£26)
This primer really does feel beautiful on the skin. If my skin is looking a bit worse for wear, dull or feels dehydrated, this will sort me out in no time. The coconut water in this hydrates your skin and helps it to feel alive again. I also love that this is silicone-free and your face doesn’t feel tight or tacky after using this.

CYO Long-Lasting Foundation (£7.50)
I can’t recall that this has made it to a ‘daily makeup routine’ blogpost, but this has been a regular on my face for as long as I can remember (over 12 months anyway!). I’ve used countless bottles of this throughout 2019 and I swear by it. It’s natural-looking, the shade 102 matches me perfectly and it wears evenly throughout the day. It can be applied with a sponge for a light coverage or is easily layered for fuller coverage. If you haven’t tried this £6.99 wonder, then I’d urge you to pick one up next time you’re in Boots.

Makeup Obsession Mega Conceal (£7)
This is great and much comparable to the Makeup Revolution Concealer. The large forefoot applicator makes it very quick to apply and the coverage is great under your eyes or to cover blemishes. My favourite way to apply this is using my Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge.

CYO Concealer (£5)
I alternate the makeup obsession mega conceal concealer with this pot concealer by CYO. This is slightly messier to apply as I blend it directly with my finger, but I find I can build up the coverage easily with this and it won’t go cakey.

CYO Setting Powder (Transparent) (£4)
As you can see, I’ve become quite a fan of the CYO range. For the price, the product quality is amazing. I love applying this setting powder with the new real techniques powder sponge to ‘bake’ under my eyes, and then dust powder on the rest of my face with a powder brush. This really locks your makeup in place to help it last all day.

Primark Bronzer
I can’t recall the exact name of this as the packaging rubbed off and broke soon after I purchased this (partly down to how much I use this and how much love it gets I imagine, partly down to flimsy packaging), however, this is great as a contour/ bronzer that blends easily. It’s slightly pink/red toned , however, it adds great warmth to your skin when everywhere is cold.

If you read my review of the Too Faced range, you’ll have seen how as a highlighter, I was disappointed by the pay-off of this and how I struggle to get this to show up on my face. That said, with some perseverance, this gives a subtle layer to my cheeks, and works great as an eyeshadow/ brow bone highlight.

L’Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow - Amber Rush
This is the standout product of my makeup bag and I’m honestly gutted that you can no longer get these in the UK. This pressed pigment has such a great colour payoff and is a beautiful rose gold shade. It’s so easy to apply and blend and required minimal effort to give you great eye make-up that will last all day. My boyfriend doesn’t normally pay much attention to the makeup I wear, but he’ll, without fail, compliment my eye makeup when wearing this. I’ve been using this consistently for months now and dread the day when I finally run out of this and have to pay obscene delivery charges to get my hands on.

This mascara wand takes some getting used to, purely because of how big it is, but once you’ve mastered using it, you won’t be disappointed. This mascara leaves you with long and full (borderline clumpy/spidery) lashes, making this ideal for a night out. If I want statement lashes, I’ll layer this and use it alone. If I want more natural lashes, I’ll reach for the Primark mascara.

Primark P.S Fake It Mascara
I have two mascaras in my make up bag that I use in conjunction with one another. The Fake It Mascara is extremely natural and just acts to separate and tint your lashes, so I’ll use this after the Too Faced Mascara to stop my lashes from clumping together

That's all for my current makeup staples, what are your favourite makeup products of the moment?
