Autumn Make-Up Routine (& Project Pan Progress)
15:30
Its been a little while since I last shared my daily makeup routine, so now that the festive season is well underway, I thought that I would share the items I’ve been reaching for in the recent colder months and also share my Project Pan progress!
For my base, I have switched up my much loved CYO Long Lasting Foundation for IT Cosmetics CC Cream*. If you’re after a base that feels like a BB Cream but has more coverage, then this CC cream would be perfect for you. I have this in the shade ‘light’, which is more like ‘medium’ on my fair skin.
The IT cosmetic’s CC cream is hydrating on the skin, leaves a very dewy finish (I’ll always counter this with a powder) and gives a your-skin-but-better finish. I have been using this in conjunction with my new favourite Revolution Supersize Conceal & Define Concealer in the shade C2. This is the second concealer I have purchased from the range, as I got through the standard size far too quickly - so it’s definitely worth paying the extra £3 for the bigger size. The large doe-foot applicator may be daunting at first, but its certainly workable and the consistency offers great coverage under your eyes, without being heavy or cakey - a firm competitor of my other favourite concealer, the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer.
To set this, I have been using the IT Cosmetics Translucent Powder. I have mixed thoughts on this powder. This powder is handy to have in your bag for touch ups as it comes in a mirrored compact with a small brush. Although this does set your makeup in place, there isn’t much of a pay off with this, meaning that I have to use a lot of powder to set my face and am already very close to hitting pan on this. Although this works at leaving a smooth finish, I just cannot justify the cost of this (£25) versus much cheaper alternatives, such as the Revolution or Primark Setting Powders which I love.
For my cheeks, I’ve been using, and loving, my MAC Harmony blusher as the rosy-beige colour works well for a bronzer on my fair skin. The almost-brown colour means that this can be used as a contour/ bronzer, a warm toned blusher or as an eyeshadow. This blusher is pigmented, yet easy to blend and long lasting on the cheeks - a versatile item not to be missed!
If I fancy a flush of colour to my cheeks, I continue to reach for my Hourglass ‘Luminous Flush’ blusher on the apple of my cheeks. These blushers may be expensive to buy, but boy do they last forever in the pan! No matter how hard I try to finish this blusher, it just keeps going!
For a winter ‘glow’, I have been reaching for my new Maybelline Facestudio Chrome Extreme Highlighter* in the shade Molten Rose Gold. I did have an issue with this highlighter arriving smashed up, however, I decanted the pigments into my old Becca Champagne Pop compact, and have attempted to press the pigment back to its true form. Nevertheless, not wanting to waste the highlighter which is a gorgeous champagne pink colour, I have been reaching for this as an eyeshadow and a highlighter. The colour will blend easily, both on the cheeks and eyes, and will last on the skin all day.
If I have fancied a slightly more wintery eye, I have continued to use and love my MAC Satin Taupe Eyeshadow in the outer corners and crease, paired with my Bourjois Volume Glamour Effet Mascara which has seen better days but now that it is nearing the end of its life, provides great length and volume to my lashes.
And last but not least, on my lips, I have been using and loving my MAC ‘Modesty’ lipstick as my go-to everyday nude shade. Smells and tastes delicious, and works well with any makeup look!
So that's all for my everyday makeup! What have you been loving recently?
