Beauty Haul: Superdrug and Boots Purchases October/November 2013
21:21A couple of weeks ago I used my day off wisely and took a trip to Manchester with two of my good friends, in order to get some retail therapy. This, of course, resulted in parting with my hard earned cash on some much hyped about makeup items, of which I shall share today.
The first place that I headed to was Superdrug which was where I bought the infamous Undressed palette. For me, if I hear nothing but hype about a product I tend to wait a year or so to see if people are still talking about a product, before I cave and buy it. Fortunately this was well worth the wait and I have been really impressed with this dupe of the Urban Decay Naked palette. I find the MUA eye shadows are really pigmented for the price and last easily throughout the day without creasing, a great alternative in my eyes.Another product I purchased whilst in Superdrug was a repurchase of the much loved Collection Concealer. I think this is my 3rd or 4th tube and I still love it. For me this gives a great coverage at a great price and comes in a shade that matches perfectly for my skin.
I also made another repurchase of the MUA Fixing Mist. I loved this when I first purchased it as it kept my make up in place through the hot weather so I thought that for £5 I would buy another to last me through the Christmas party season.
Following this, I then took a cheeky trip to Boots to find that they, too, were having 3 for 2 across all of their makeup. Having a gift card burning a hole in my pocket, I decided to use my £20 Boots giftcard wisely and pick up a couple of much wanted make up goodies.
One of the first products I was drawn to was the RT powder brush. Currently, aside from my Mac 217, RT brushes are the only brushes I use and unfortunately there was a powder brush gap in my collection . It seemed only right at the time to buy this whilst on offer and I am so glad that I did as I have been using it every day since, for my powder and also blending out my blusher.
A shock I had whilst in Boots was a Sleek counter. Yep, a sleek counter – how had I not known about this!? Anyway, shocked Beth aside, I decided to finally get my hands on their contour kit as it is constantly raved about. Shockingly, I have been neglecting this kit so far in place of my Barbara Daily suede coloured blush however I’m sure once I’ve used that up, this will take its place.
The final makeup item I picked up whilst in Manchester was the Seventeen Wow Skin Highlighter. Again, this has been neglected and pushed aside for my current makeup look. That being said, this is said to be great on its own as a highlighter, mixed into your moisturiser or mixed with foundation so no doubt I shall be adding this to my makeup bag when my skin gets dry to add a bit of life into my face!
So guys and girls those were my cheeky makeup purchases! Have you been buying any makeup lately? Let me know below!
