Haul: Mini Boots and Superdrug Haul

Today I took a trip into Manchester City Centre for a spot of retail therapy. Although the trip was unsuccessful for clothes shopping, I did pick up a couple of things that I thought I'd share.

Boots Rosewater Toning Spritz - £3.32

This is said to be similar to Mac Fix +. Forgive me for saying this but what does it do? I'm not entirely sure whether it does anything as of yet so please let me know how this is supposed to work.

Neutrogena 2 in 1 Wash and Mask - £1.99 (Superdrug)

This was on offer in Superdrug so I thought I'd seize the opportunity. I ran out of this many moons ago and was waiting for a special offer ( tight or what?) before I'd repurchase to give me a chance to finish up my other products. I loved this when I owned this and I hope I will continue to love this.

Boots Extra Large Cotton Pads - £2.60

Another repurchase for me; I love these cotton pads as I only have to use one at a time and they don't disintegrate like cheapo cotton pads.

Thats all for my mini haul, I hope you enjoyed! x

Nail Polish

Not a rave review #2: Revlon Colorstay Nail Polish* Review 120 Sequin

Today I have for you my second post in my not a rave review ongoing series, today focussing on Revlons new addition to their nail polish line, the colorstay nail polish.

Revlon claims that this nail polish provides gel-like shine finish with up to 11 days shine (with a base and top coat).

When painting my nails, the nail polish was relatively easy to apply streak free (supposedly due to the double barrel brush) , although the thicker consistency made it easier to smudge the polish. The polish was also opaque after 1 coat. The thickness also meant it’s supposed to take longer to set than conventional polishes, however I found that 1 coat dried within 5 minutes.

The overall result was very glossy, smooth and gel-like however nothing comparable to gel nails in my opinion.

It is the lasting power of this product which lets it down. Although I skipped base and top coat, I still expected this polish, of which I have in shade 160 sequin, to last much longer than it did. What I also did not like was the colour of this. The metallic finish of the wasn't flattering on my fingers, especially with my skin tone.

I applied this polish on a Thursday night and by the following morning I already noticed wear on the polish at the tips on my nails. By Sunday I was sick of wearing the polish for how chipped it was and how easily the polish would peel off my nails. When I finally came to remove the polish I found it rather difficult to remove, which ended up leaving flecks of glitter on my nails.

Overall I am quite disappointed with this particular shade of polish and would not recommend, however Revlon do offer 30 shades of this polish which I would hope are of better quality and if you only want your polish to last for a couple of days these polishes may still be for you.

Have you tried Revlon's Colorstay Polish?

Back to School

Haul: School Supplies and Stationary Essentials for Back to School

I don't know about you but I find the best part (only good part) of returning back to school after your 6 week break is the stationary/supply shopping and last weekend I did just that. I took a trip to my local Tesco Extra store in readiness for the new term.

As I have many items of stationary left from last year I didn't have to repurchase everything but there were ' a few' items I just had to buy.

Folders: Before I started my GCSE's last year I had no idea that we were now to be using folders instead of books for many of our subjects. This year I feel much more prepared and have purchased some folders to replace the ones which had gone tatty from last year.

Lined Paper: I also was unaware that I now had to purchase lined paper so for this this year I have stocked up in readiness - Oxford being my favourite brand.

Ink Erasers: Like standard rubbers, these erase any errors I make with my fountain pen and are essential for me.

Zebra Z Grip Biros: This pack is perfect as it includes the standard blue and black biro colours but also red, green, pink and purple which I use for underlining or note cards.

WhiteBoard Pens: I use these on the back of my planner at the start of the year if teachers don't know our names.

Pritt Stick: To glue in sheets

Ink Cartridges: Both sizes for both types of fountain pen
